what is SACRED SEXUALITY | TANTRA | NEOTANTRA?
​
Sacred Sexuality is an umbrella term that includes a range of alternative cultural praxis
focusing on the integration of sexuality & spirituality.
This is both a process of decolonization,
as altervative praxis challenge the dominant global paradigm of sexuality, which is predominantly
Western | Christian | Patriarchal | Reproductive
& an ongoing process of colonization,
as Western practitioners adopt cultural traditions out of context.
Tantra is the most well known Sacred Sexuality practise.
Meaning 'to weave', it is an ancient Hindu | Buddhist yogic tradition,
a spiritual system with deep lineage.
Whilst it has historically included sexuality,
sexuality has not traditionally been the primary focus of Tantra.

NeoTantra refers to Westernised Tantra with its emphasis on sexuality & intimate connection with others.
It often includes components of traditional Tantra as well as elements from other traditions.
As NeoTantra is not a traditional practise, all contemporary practitioners have a unique approach.

WHAT IS BDSM | Kink | CONSCIOUS KINK | tantric kink | RITUAL KINK?
BDSM stands for Bondage, Discipline, Sadism & Masochism.
These are common themes within kink.
​
Kink is generally defined as any non-'normative' sexual practise, concept or fantasy.
That's a pretty broad definition!
To make it even more confusing,
people engage with kink praxis for a multitude of different reasons
including pain management, nervous system regulation & spiritual observance.
It's not always sexual!

Conscious Kink is a term used to describe an active awareness of the many layers within kink play,
including trauma awareness, personal development & the potential for transformative change.
​
There are many misconceptions about kink,
such as that it is inherently dangerous, or that you have to be weird to enjoy it.
Kink can take many forms:
diverse sexual practises have occurred across cultures & millenia,
& many contemporary kink practises are connected to deep cultural traditions.
Tantric Kink & Ritual Kink are terms that allude to the
incorporation of spirituality into kink praxis.

Mine is a syncretic practise in alignment with my own personal spirituality.
It is comprised of many influences & experiences.
I am acutely aware of issues of cultural appropriation
& welcome deep conversations upon this topic.

Growing up bohemian, I never knew normal.
A lover describes me as wild -
highly cultured, yet untamed.
I started my professional journey with sexuality at 18 as a stripper, fascinated by the dynamics at play.
A foray into family shame led me to abandon my fledgling career, spinning me off into many glorious years working with
organic food, artisinal chocolate & the publishing industry,
feeding my mind & senses.
I spent many years in academia, across many disciplines, including Literature, Film, Cultural Studies, Philosophy, Gender Studies, History, Archeology, Latin American Studies, Politics, International Development, Environmental Studies,Sociology & Anthropology.
My Honours thesis was on Zombies.
My PhD research included topics such as Futurism, Utopia, Apocalypse, Climate Change, the Anthropocene, the Technological Singularity & temporal mapping.
I did not complete due to a significant health crisis.
This moment sparked my return to the sexuality industry, initially as an escort.
A Kundalini Awakening not long afterwards
dropped me deeper into my journey with sexuality & embodiment, beginning the journey of Eve.
I now primarily offer bodywork,
sexuality & embodiment coaching,
Conscious Kink experiences,
public education & perfomance.
